Day 1 : Mexico City
Departure to Mexico. Arrival, and transfer to your hotel. Night in Mexico.
Day 2: Mexico City
Breakfast. Departure from the hotel to downtown Mexico City via the Avenue de la Reforme built at the request of the Emperor Maximilian and on which are many famous national monuments: you will take the avenue Juarez bordered by the Alameda Park then you will discover the Palace of Bellas Artes which is the work of the Italian architect Adamo Boari; You will then take Madero Street until you reach the Zocalo to visit the National Palace, seat of the government whose walls are covered with frescoes by the muralist Diego Rivera, one of the greatest contemporary Mexican painters. Then you will discover the Cathedral, a remarkable example of colonial architecture and the Templo Mayor. You will continue your visit to the Chapultepec Park through the residential area of Las Lomas, one of the most luxurious in the capital. Return to the hotel. B
Day 3: Cuernavaca – Taxco
Day 3 (Monday or Wednesday): Full day Cuernavaca and Taxco with dinner
Breakfast. Departure from the hotel to Cuernavaca which is 82 kilometers from Mexico City for about an hour drive. The site is known as the “eternal spring”; you will visit the cathedral, architectural testimony of the sixteenth century that still retains its walls the remains of ancient frescoes. Continue to Taxco, 85 km and an hour and a half drive, famous for its many silverware shops. You will see the church of St. Prisca, a jewel of Mexican Baroque art dating back to the 18th century. You will discover the village on foot, on the occasion of a pleasant walk along its steep streets. Lunch and return in the afternoon to Mexico City, 175 km for about two hours drive. Transfer to the hotel. B
Day 4: Puebla
Breakfast, departure from the hotel for about two hours to Puebla 123 kilometers from the capital. The central square of the “City of Angels” is lined with many Baroque buildings and among them are beautiful examples of the religious art of the colonial era. You will visit the cathedral then the chapel of the Rosary, an architectural gem of the eighteenth century after a visit to Parian, the craft market, in a neighborhood that has beautiful traditional houses dating from the same time.
Dinner and departure in the afternoon for Cholula which is 12 kilometers and twenty minutes drive. Visit the pyramid, one of the largest and most important of the American continent in this place which is the cradle of the Indians choletecs. Return in the afternoon to the hotel for the night in Puebla. B
Day 5: Puebla
Breakfast. Day at your leisure. You can go on optional excursions or go shopping. B
Day 6: Puebla – Mexico City
Breakfast. Transfer from Puebla to Mexico City. Day at your leisure. B
Day 7: Mexico City – Montréal:
Breakfast. Transfer to Mexico City airport for the return flight to Montreal. B
