Iceland Vacation including round-trip airfare, 3* Accommodations in double occupancy, transfers and excursion to Discover the Northern Lights.
On this four-day vacation in Iceland, travellers get a chance to track the lights on a guided tour and get to know Reykjavik, the world’s northernmost capital city. In the heart of snow-capped mountains, they travel deep into the Icelandic countryside in search of the Northern Lights on a 3-5 hour journey. This luminous phenomenon occurs particularly in high latitude regions and is caused by the collision of energetic charged particles with atoms in the high altitude atmosphere.
The next day, those who chose to add other excursions to their trip such as the Iceland’s Golden Circle tour, they depart on a wide-ranging, 6-hour tour that starts at Thingvellir National Park, where the Icelandic parliament was established in 930 AD. Then it’s on to the Gullfoss waterfall, known as the “Golden Falls” for its sunny glow in the summertime. The tour ends with a stop at two geothermic geysers, including one at Strokkur that reliably spouts hot water into the air every few minutes.
Travellers can spend the rest of their time in Reykjavik exploring on their own or can opt for other day tours (not included in the package) such as horseback riding along the Viking routes and bird-watching in the West Fjords.
Additional excursions are available ($):
1. Visit Iceland’s Golden Circle (Thingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss waterfall).
2. Enjoy 2 tours: the Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa, a four-hour relaxation bath where lava and thermal water meet and complement each other.
3. Enjoy 3 tours : Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon Bath and Winter Whale Watching from Reykjavik’s old port.
