Day 1: Mexico City
Arrival and reception at Mexico City airport by your local French speaking guide. Transfer to your hotel and installation. Dinner free. Night at the hotel.
Day 2: Mexico City
American breakfast. Visit the National Museum of Anthropology, one of the most beautiful archaeological museums in the world. Road to Xochimilco, a network of canals and gardens called Chinampas UNESCO World Heritage. Typical dinner on the boats in Xochimilco. Back to Mexico City. Visit the Constitution Square, the Cathedral and the National Palace. Walk on Garibaldi Square. Dinner show with folk atmosphere. Back to your hotel. Night. B/L/S
Day 3: Mexico City – Teotihuacán – Puebla
American breakfast. Visit the basilica Notre-Dame-de-Guadeloupe, stop at the Place des Trois Cultures. Continuation towards Teotihuacan. Visit the archaeological site. Visit of an obsidian mill and tasting of Pulque and Tequila. Dinner, specialty buffet with musical entertainment. Road to Puebla. Discovery of the city, its Zocalo and Santo Domingo church. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. B/D/S
Day 4: Puebla – Oaxaca
American breakfast. Early departure for Oaxaca. Buffet dinner of Mexican specialties. Visit the city of Oaxaca: the Zocalo (public square), the market, the church of Santo Domingo, considered one of the most beautiful Baroque churches of Mexico. Visit of the regional museum. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. B/L/S
Day 5: Oaxaca
American breakfast. Visit the site of Monte Alban, majestic city located at 2000m altitude between heaven and earth. Dinner of grilled meat. Then discover the village of San Bartolo Coyotepec, famous for its black ceramic pottery. Continue to the village San Antonio Arrazola where are made the famous “Alebrijes”, phantasmagorical animals in wood painted with bright colors. Tasting of mezcal. Dinner-show of regional dances of Guelaguetza. Night at the hotel. B/L/S
Day 6: Oaxaca / Tehuantepec
American breakfast. Departure for the visit of the site of Mitla whose “mosaics” of pre-Columbian stones are undoubtedly the most beautiful of Mexico. Stop at the Tule tree, a 2000 year old cypress tree, 40 m high and 42 m in circumference and at Teotitlan del Valle, village of weavers. Having dinner. Road to Tehuantepec through a beautiful mountain road where vegetation is mostly reduced to candelabra cacti. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. B/L/S
Day 7: Tehuantepec – Tuxtla Gutierrez – San Cristobal
American breakfast. Road to Tuxtla Gutierrez, capital of the state of Chiapas. Dinner with marimbas animation. Motor boat ride in the Sumidero Canyon (weather permitting) where you can admire the magnificent stone gorges whose cliffs reach an altitude of 1000 meters and a depth of 150 meters. Continue to San Cristobal de las Casas. Installation, dinner and overnight at the hotel. B/L/S
Day 8: San Cristobal – Agua Azul – Palenque
American breakfast. Visit of the city and its market where the traditional costumes of the Tzotzile Indians rub shoulders. Departure to visit the picturesque village of San Juan Chamula and its curious church, where are held amazing ceremonies. Discover the village of Zinacantan where you can taste tacos at the inhabitant and discover the artisanal weaving of traditional huipils. Road towards Palenque. Late dinner along the way. Stop at Agua Azul waterfalls (weather permitting). Arrival in Palenque in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. B/L/S
Day 9: Palenque – Uxmal
American breakfast. Discovery of the archaeological site of Palenque, one of the most beautiful Mayan cities of Central America. Having dinner. Road towards Uxmal. Installation in your hotel located at the foot of the sites. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. B/L/S
Day 10: Uxmal – Merida – Chichen Itza
American breakfast. Departure for the visit of Uxmal, the largest and most representative archaeological site in the Puuc region. Stop at the hacienda Ochil, dating from the seventeenth century. Dinner of yucatec specialties in the restaurant of the hacienda. Road towards Mérida. City Tour: The Cathedral, the Zocalo, bordered by some of the most beautiful colonial buildings in the city, the covered market. Continue to Chichen Itza. Stop in front of a Mayan cemetery. Sound and light show on the archaeological site (in English or Spanish). Installation, dinner and overnight at the hotel. B/L/S
Day 11: Chichen Itza – Cancun
American breakfast. Visit the site of Chichen Itza, recently designated as one of the 7 wonders of the world. Visit of his Cenote. Dinner with demonstrations of Yucatec dances. Discovery of a traditional Mayan village in the heart of a sumptuous nature site. B/L
