Day 1: Mexico City
Arrival, reception and transfer to your hotel and installation. Dinner free. Night at the hotel.
Day 2: Mexico City
Visit the city and the Museum of Anthropology. Departure to downtown Mexico City, passing by the Avenue de la Reforme, built at the request of Emperor Maximilian and on which are many famous national monuments. Then you will discover the Cathedral and the Templo Mayor. You will continue your visit to Chapultepec Park. Continue to visit the Museum of Anthropology, the largest in Mexico. Lunch in the museum restaurant. Return to the hotel. B/D
Day 3: Mexico City
Departure from the hotel for the basilica of Guadeloupe, the most famous sanctuary in Mexico, the Three Cultures Square where three periods of the history of Mexico meet. Continue to Teotihuacan (“Location of the Gods”) located 53 km from the capital. Visit the site where the so-called Teotihuacan culture was developed. After the visit, have lunch in the restaurant “Gran Teocalli”. Return to the hotel. B/D
Day 4: Mexico City – Cuernavaca
Departure to the south of the city to see the colonial neighborhoods, which is the favorite place of city dwellers on weekends. Coyoacan was the bohemian neighborhood of the 1940s with its beautiful houses, shady squares and lively markets. There is the famous blue house of the painter Frida Kahlo transformed into a museum. Continue to Cuernavaca. B
Day 5: Cuernavaca
Visit Cuernavaca, nicknamed “city of eternal spring”, which has always been a refreshing getaway for chilangos. The conquistador Hernan Cortes even built his palace there. After, visit the magnificent site of Xochicalco and its sculptures. B
Day 6: Cuernavaca – Taxco – Ixtapan de la Sal
Departure to Ixtapan de la Sal. On the way, visit Taxco, a superb example of colonial style and one of the most typical and pleasant places in Mexico. Stop in the shops to admire the most beautiful works of goldsmithery and jewelry of the country. Continuation to Ixtapan de la Sal. B
Day 7: Ixtapan de la Sal
Day at your disposal to visit the surroundings of Ixtapan de la Sal or to take advantage of the hotel’s facilities. SPA treatment. B
Day 8: Ixtapan de la Sal – Mexico City
Transfer to Mexico City airport and return to Montreal. B
